
Christopher Newport University Sweeps C2C All-Sports Awards for Fourth Straight Year
Christopher Newport University captured six titles among the 17 conference sports to sweep all three sections of the 2024-25 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) All-Sports Award competition. The Captains led the standings in the Richard C. Cook All-Sports Award, the Men's Commissioner's Award and the Women's Commissioner's Award.
In addition to their six team championships, CNU assembled runner-up finishes in eight sports to record an 81.3 percentage total in the Richard C. Cook All-Sports Award standings. CNU totaled 86.7% of the possible points in ten women's sports and 73.3% in the seven men's sports to win the overall competition over UC Santa Cruz.
Christopher Newport captured team championships in volleyball, women's basketball, women's indoor track and field, men's and women's tennis, and softball during the 2024-25 school year.
It marks the eighth overall and fourth straight C2C (formerly CAC) all-sports trophy for the Captains. The Women's Commissioner's Award is also the eighth overall for CNU, while they secured the Men's Commissioner's Award for the sixth time.
UC Santa Cruz placed second overall with six C2C titles - men's and women's cross country, women's soccer, men's indoor track and field, and men's and women's outdoor track and field. The Banana Slugs compiled a 77.4 percentage in the all-sports standings, including 81.4% in the women's standings and 72.2% on the men's side which both ranked second.
Salisbury placed third in the Richard C. Cook All-Sports Award rankings with a 65.3 percentage. The Sea Gulls won titles in field hockey, baseball, and women's lacrosse to record a third-place finish in the Women's Commissioner's Standings (67.8) and fourth in the Men's Commissioner's Standings (58.3).
Mary Washington tallied 53.4% to claim fourth place in the All-Sports standings. The Eagles won a pair of C2C titles in men's soccer and men's basketball. UMW placed third in the men's (63.3) and fourth in women's (48.8) standings.
Mount Mary (27.3) finished in fifth place with Warren Wilson (18.0) in sixth.
