The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced the 59 teams which received either the Gold, Silver or Bronze version of the Team Ethics Award, recognizing those squads that exhibited fair play, sporting behavior, and adherence to the laws of the game as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season.

The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's soccer team was one of five programs in the entire nation and in any of the three NCAA divisions to receive the Gold Award for receiving no cards throughout the season. 

St. Mary's finished the 2007 campaign with a 6-11-1 overall record and a 4-3-1 mark in league action.

The other four programs to join St. Mary's on the list were Division I Alabama State University (0-16), Division III Hilbert (4-12-2) and Principia (15-4) Colleges and NAIA Ohio Dominican University (14-3-1).

Forty teams claimed the Silver Award (maximum of five yellow cards and no red cards), while the Bronze Award (maximum of 10 yellow cards and no red cards) went to 14 programs.
