Mary Washington Students Collect A Ton Of Food In "Cans Across America" Campus Drive

The University of Mary Washington student-athletes donated over one ton of food for the canned food drive "Cans Across America" earlier this fall as part of a campus-wide drive for food for the Fredericksburg food bank.

UMW's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) encouraged each of the Eagles teams to participate in the program.

The UMW campus donated a total of 3,663 pounds of food for the bank, with student-athletes donating 2,492 pounds. The baseball team led all donations with 468.5 pounds collected.
