Administrators from Frostburg State University were welcomed during the institution's first full meeting of membership while Gallaudet University was thanked for its two decades of membership prior to changing to a new affiliation for the 2010-11 season at this week's annual CAC Board of Directors meeting.

FSU Athletic Director Troy Dell and Senior Woman Administrator and women's basketball coach Jody Pepple attended their first meeting as full voting members of the conference, held at St. Mary's College (Md.) on Tuesday (6/8) and Wednesday (6/9).

Frostburg State, an original member of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, will begin competition in 18 CAC championship sports in September.  The Bobcats will vie for CAC championships in baseball, men's & women's basketball, men's & women's cross country, field hockey, men's & women's lacrosse, softball, men's & women's soccer, men's & women's swimming, men's & women's tennis, men's & women's track & field and women's volleyball.

Gallaudet Athletic Director Michael Weinstock and Senior Woman Administrator Anna Hall were presented an award from the CAC Board of Directors, recognizing the Bison athletic program for two decades of participation as a charter member of the conference.

The Bison will begin competition as a full member of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) in September.  2010 will also mark GU's second season as a member of the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC).

In its 20 seasons, Gallaudet won five CAC championships - all in women’s volleyball - which ranks sixth among the nine current conference members.

The Bison also appeared in several other championship contests, particularly in volleyball and women’s basketball during the playing career of CAC record holder and three-time Women’s Basketball Player of the Year Ronda Jo Miller (1997-2000).

In its final season of CAC membership, GU played in the volleyball championship game and snapped lengthy CAC losing streaks in women’s basketball and baseball.  The Bison also ended a long conference losing streak in softball during the 2009 campaign.
