CAC Recognizes 1,445 Student-Athletes on 2018-19 All-Academic Team

2018-19 CAC All-Academic Team

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) announced that 1,446 student-athletes were named to the 2018-19 All-Academic Team, an average of over 179 student-athletes per full member institution.

Student-athletes in one or more CAC championship sports that attain a 3.20 grade point average (GPA) for the academic year earn a spot on the All-Academic team. A total of 51.1% of CAC student-athletes posted a 3.20 GPA this year (1,446 of 2,832).

Seven schools had at least 100 student-athletes on the CAC All-Academic team, including a CAC-leading 278 honorees from York. Christopher Newport and Salisbury finished tied-for-second in total honorees with 205 each followed by Mary Washington (181), St. Mary's and Frostburg State (165 each), Southern Virginia (144) and Penn State Harrisburg (94). 

For the fourth straight year, York recorded the highest percentage of student-athletes on the list at 67.5%. St. Mary’s, Christopher Newport and Salisbury also placed at least half of their student-athletes on the team.
