CAC Players of the Week - Sept. 24
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. --- Week four of the fall 2018 season witnessed the opening of CAC volleyball action while field hockey and soccer remain in non-conference play as the first month of fall competition wraps up this week. Weekly honors were garned by Lauren Hopkins of Mary Washington field hockey, Meghan Ronan of St. Mary's field hockey, Ethan Hoover of Penn State Harrisburg men's soccer, Ken Kurtz of Mary Washington men's soccer, Lindsey Hendrickson of Mary Washington women's soccer, Haley Eiser of Christopher Newport women's soccer, and Hailey Lohnes of Southern Virginia volleyball.

FIELD HOCKEY - OFFENSIVE POTW
Lauren Hopkins | Mary Washington | Jr. | F
Virginia Beach, Va. | Kempsville
Hopkins scored three goals, marking her second straight hat trick, as Mary Washington defeated Washington & Lee, 4-0, on Wednesday, and added one score in a 4-3 win over Shenandoah on Saturday, earning Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second straight week. She became the first UMW player since Morgan Jones in 2011 to record back to back hat tricks, and provided the game-winning goal in both Eagle contests this week. She moved into ninth place in school history with her 38th career goal, which came on Saturday. Hopkins leads the CAC in goals (10) and points (21).

FIELD HOCKEY - DEFENSIVE POTW
Meghan Ronan | St. Mary's | So. | D/M
Odenton, Md. | Arundel
Ronan helped St. Mary's to a 1-1 week, holding two opponents to a combined 14 shots (six on goal) and two goals on the week. She added a score of her own in a tough 3-2 loss to Shenandoah.

MEN'S SOCCER - OFFENSIVE POTW
Ethan Hoover | Penn State Harrisburg | Sr. | M
Gap, Pa. | Pequea Valley
Hoover tallied four goals and one assist last week, helping the Lions to a 3-0 record and improve to 10-0 overall this season. He scored the game-winner and added an assist against Hartwick. In a 4-0 win at Clarks Summit, Hoover scored the first two goals, before concluding the week with the game's second goal in a 2-0 triumph at Marymount.

Katonah, N.Y. | Somers
Kurtz earned Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after recording a pair of shutouts as No. 17 Mary Washington defeated Catholic and Widener to improve to 7-0-1. He recorded four saves against the Cardinals and two against Widener, and lowered his season goals-against average to 0.25, having allowed two goals through eight games with 29 saves.

WOMEN'S SOCCER - OFFENSIVE POTW
Lindsey Hendrickson | Mary Washington | Fr. | M
Clifton, Va. | Centreville
Hendrickson led Mary Washington to a pair of non conference wins this week, scoring four goals as the Eagles improved to 4-1-1 on the year. On Friday at Marymount, Hendrickson was one of four Eagles to score in a 4-0 victory over the Saints, and on Sunday she added her first collegiate hat trick as UMW defeated Meredith, 5-0.

WOMEN'S SOCCER - DEFENSIVE POTW
Haley Eiser | Christopher Newport | So. | GK
North Chesterfield, Va. | Monacan
Eiser started both games and earned the win in both to improve to 4-0-0 on the season for CNU as the Captains notched road wins at Arcadia and Roanoke last week. She made six stops and allowed just one goal in two games. Eiser played nearly 158 minutes and earned her first career shutout with a 3-0 win at previously-unbeaten Arcadia. For the week, she posted a .857 save percentage and 0.57 goals against average.

VOLLEYBALL
Hailey Lohnes | Southern Virginia | So. | RS
Spring, Texas | Oak Ridge
Lohnes led the Knights to a 2-0 week with a pair of double-doubles. She opened the week with 16 kills and 14 digs in a 3-1 non-conference victory against Roanoke. Lohnes then posted 19 kills, 17 digs, and four service aces in a 3-1 CAC-opening victory over Salisbury. For the week, she averaged 4.38 kills and 3.88 digs per set while adding six aces and two blocks.
