Four CAC Baseball Players Named To Capital One Academic All-District Team

Four CAC baseball players were named Friday to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

To be eligible for nomination, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically, carry a minimum 3.30 grade-point average and be a starter or key reserve on his team.

The District II squad includes all NCAA Division III players from Connecticut, Washington, D.C., Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Rhode Island and West Virginia.

Stevenson placed two players on the District 2 team, including senior infielder Justin Anderson (Shrewsbury, Pa.) and senior DH Tony Prescott (Elkridge, Md.).  Anderson is a business administration major with a 3.68 grade point average while Prescott is a criminal justice major with a 3.36 GPA.

Also on the District 2 squad were Salisbury junior pitcher Andrew Levy (Hampstead, Md.) and Wesley junior outfielder Morgan Rupp (Mount Joy, Pa.).  Levy is an accounting major with a 3.65 grade point average while Rupp is a sport management major with a 3.97 GPA.

All four players will be on the national ballot for selection to the Capital One Academic All-America team.
