Complete All-South Region Team

Fifteen CAC baseball student-athletes were named to the D3Baseball.com All-South Region team, while Salisbury head coach Doug Fleetwood was honored as the South Region Coach of the Year, announced Monday.

Fleetwood, who announced earlier this spring that this would be his last season at the helm of the baseball program, was named regional coach of the year after guiding Salisbury to its third straight CAC title, the NCAA Regional Championship and a trip to the upcoming Division III College World Series.

Frostburg State, Salisbury and York each landed four players on the all-region teams, while Christopher Newport (2) and Wesley (1) also had players honored.

Representing the CAC on the first team were Salisbury outfielder Kyle Hayman and starting pitcher Brett Collacchi, Christopher Newport shortstop and CAC Player of the Year Billy Steel, and Frostburg State second baseman Ricky Castro.

Second team honorees included a trio from York - catcher Colbe Herr, first baseman Brad Wenzel and DH Derek Pitzer - along with CNU outfielder Tommy Vitaletti and Wesley reliever Andrew Cooper.

Landing on the third team were Salisbury second baseman Johnny Schiotis and reliever Kyle Hamby, Frostburg State first baseman Ricky Brady, third baseman Zach Weiss and starting pitcher Kenny Georgius, and York outfielde Andrew Hershey.
