Five CAC Baseball Players Named D3baseball.com All-Americans

Five CAC baseball players, including three from CAC Champion Frostburg State, were honored as D3baseball.com All-Americans on Wednesday. 

Frostburg State senior Clayton Freimuth headlined the All-America squad, earning the lone spot from the CAC on the first team. Freimuth, a lefthanded pitcher, boasts an 8-2 record on the mound with a 1.62 ERA in 77.5 innings pitched. He has held opponents to just a .193 batting average and also has two saves on the year. 

Also earning All-America accolades from Frostburg State were senior Nick Walker (2nd team) and freshman Greg Schneider (honorable mention). Walker, an outfielder, is batting .372 with 54 RBIs, 28 stolen bases and seven home runs entering this week's College World Series. Schneider earned the award as a utility player as both an outfielder and a pitcher. The CAC Rookie of the Year, Schneider is batting .346 and sports an 8-1 record on the mound with a 1.90 ERA and 94 strikeouts in 80.1 innings. He has limited opponents to just a .183 average. 

Mary Washington senior catcher Jono Haught was named to the second team. The CAC Player of the Year, Haught led the Eagles and the CAC with a .457 batting average along with 52 RBIs, 10 home runs and 41 runs scored. 

Representing Salisbury on the All-America squad was senior Danny Breen, who earned third team honors. A designated hitter, Breen is hitting .438 with 35 RBIs, 38 runs scored and 12 stolen bases heading into the College World Series.
