Eight CAC Baseball Players Named ABCA/Rawlings All-South Region

ABCA All-Region Teams

Eight CAC baseball players have been honored as All-South Region selections by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). Salisbury led the way with four selections, Frostburg State earned two spots, and Christopher Newport and Mary Washington each had one player honored. 

Salisbury's Jake Dmiterchik led the four-player SU contingent as a first team first baseman, while catcher Tom LaBriola, the CAC Player of the Year, shortstop Pete Grasso, and outfielder Kyle Goodwin claimed second team honors. 

The Frostburg State duo of second baseman K.J. Hockaday and outfielder Devin Bell secured first team accolades. 

Christopher Newport outfielder Tommy Vitaletti was named to the first team, while Mary Washington catcher James Keller earned third team honors.  

The 2016 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. III All-Region teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. III All-America Committee.

ABCA/Rawlings All-Region first-team selections are nominated for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors. ABCA/Rawlings All-Americans and Gold Glove winners will be announced on the evening of Thursday, May 26, 2016.
