No. 11 Salisbury and No. 14 Christopher Newport registered CAC doubleheader sweeps on Saturday to move into a three-way tie for first place with Marymount, while the other three conference twinbills resulted in splits. 

Now halfway through the conference season, CNU, Marymount and Salisburyare tied atop the standings with 7-2 conference marks. No. 16 Frostburg State and York are both 5-4, with Penn State Harrisburg and Wesley tied for sixth at 4-5. 

In St. Mary's City, Md., Salisbury (13-6, 7-2) took game one 15-8 in 10 innings before completing the sweep over St. Mary's (5-17, 1-8) with a 14-2 game two triumph. Jake Dmiterchik led the Sea Gulls in game one, going 4-for-6 at the plate with three RBIs and three runs scored. In game two, Tom Labriola registered three hits, two RBIs and three runs scored for SU while Brad Keith knocked in three runs. 

In Newport News, Va., Christopher Newport erased a two-game defiict to Marymount in the conference standings with a doubleheader sweep over the Saints (15-11, 7-2). The Captains (18-5, 7-2) won the first game, 7-4, and cruised to a game two win, 11-1, led by a six-RBI performance from sophomore DH Brandon Ginch. In the first game, CNU scored 7 on 10 hits, while adding 11 runs on 12 hits in the second. Leading the way for Christopher Newport was Ginch, connecting for four hits, including a long three-run home run in game one, with six RBIs. 

Frostburg State and Wesley split a twinbill in Frostburg, Md., with the Bobcats collecting a 9-8 win in game one and the Wolverines running away with a 21-7 victory in game two. In the opener, FSU starter Greg Schneider tossed 7.0 inning on the mound and senior Connor Cooper tripled home three runs as head coach Guy Robertson claimed his 300th collegiate victory. In the second game, Wesley scored in seven of the nine innings for a 21-7 win. Cody Dmiterchik led the Wolverines with a 5-for-6 performance at the plate with five RBIs and two runs scored, while Eric Speidel also had five RBIs. 

In Covington, Va., York (7-15-1, 5-4) topped Southern Virginia (7-16, 3-6) 10-5 in game one before the Knights bounced back with 12-2 triumph in the nightcap. Joel Kenney went 8.0 innings with six K's for the Spartans to earn his third win of the year in game one, while Seth Brosius led the York offense with three hits and four RBIs off a second-inning grand slam. Gage Bigelow was stellar on the mound for the Knights in game two, tossing a shutout 7.0 innings, allowing just five hits with four strikeouts. Jordan Nase and Davis Jones both recorded three RBIs for the Knights. 

In Middletown, Pa., No. 18 Mary Washington (17-9, 2-7) and Penn State Harrisburg (12-14, 4-5) split, with UMW winning 8-0 in the opener and Penn State Harrisburg taking game two in 11 innings, 6-5. UMW senior Ryan Van Assche earned the game one win, allowing no runs on four hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings. James Keller had two hits, two RBIs and scored twice for the Eagles. In game two, Penn State Harrisburg's Ethan Kell hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to send the game to extras, before the Lions sealed the win on an Eagles' error that allowed Jackson Struve to score. Brendan Riotto earned the victory on the mound, striking out two in 3.1 innings.
