Eighteen Standouts from CAC Earn All-Region Nods; CNU Records Nine Selections

D3baseball.com All-Region Teams

Christopher Newport collected an incredible nine selections to the D3baseball.com All-Region squads as the CAC put 18 standouts on the distinction list. 

Going around the horn, CNU swept the infield positions in the South behind the pitcher with first team selections in third baseman Seth Woodard, shortstop Nick DiNapoli, second baseman Joseph Cutchins, and first baseman Nicholas Baham. Also earning first team All-Region plaudits was outfielder Trey Hicks to round out the quintet of top honorees. On the second team, senior outfielder Jordan Mason and junior reliever Tyler Jumper earned All-Region accolades, while senior catcher Ryan Grubbs and sophomore starting pitcher Josh Husby collected third team honors. 

The All-South teams released by D3baseball.com has been honoring the nation's top players since 2012. This year, CNU set a region record for most players honored in the history of the award, besting the seven selections by LaGrange in 2017.

Salisbury earned a pair of All-South region selections with sophomore starting pitcher Jimmy Adkins landing on second team, while junior outfielder Justin Meekins garnered third team accolades. 

Mary Washington also put a pair on the all-region list with junior outfielder Christian Hague on second team and senior starting pitcher Hank Biggs on the third team.

York senior outfielder Grant Oberholtzer collected first team recognition while Frostburg State junior first baseman Ryan Roell recorded third team honors to round out the CAC all-region contigent. 

In the Mid-Atlantic Region, Penn State Harrisburg posted a trio of all-region selections with CAC Player of the Year junior outfielder Bret Williams landing on the first team, while his teammates senior second baseman Miguel Torres and junior utility Travis Van Houten both receiving second team distinction.
