Christopher Newport leadoff man Jordan Mason led the way for the Captains in four blowout victories for CNU to start the year ... Three multi-hit performances to open the season including five extra-base hits ... Hit a three-run home run at Oglethorpe and finished the game with four RBI and three runs scored ... Has driven in a team-high 8 runs and scored 6 times ... Also perfect in 10 defensive chances in center field.

Christopher Newport sophomore pitcher Josh Husby started two games and picked up wins for the Captains in both with just one run allowed in his first 12 innings pitched ... In his first outing, struck out 10 batters over 5.0 IP with just three hits allowed against Ferrum ... Then was the starting pitcher against Millsaps College when head coach John Harvell collected his 500th career win ... Tossed 7.0 shutout innings with 6 strikeouts and four hits allowed against the Majors ... Has a 0.75 ERA.

Frostburg State's Ryan Roell hit .667 in his first doubleheader as a member of the Frostburg baseball team ... He helped the Bobcats to a sweep of Wesley with one HR, four RBI and four runs scored...Salisbury's Brandon Bonesteel went 3-for-7 at the plate (.429) in wins over Immaculata University and the Stevens Institute of technology last weekend, including a double and a two-run home run. He also drew two walks and added a stolen base...Salisbury's Clayton Dwyer earned his first win of the season in a dominating performance over Stevens Institute of Technology on Sunday afternoon. After allowing a run in the first inning, Dwyer settled in to pitch seven strong innings, allowing only four hits and two walks, while striking out 11 batters.
