Frostburg State's Tre D'Amico Selected NCBWA National Hitter of the Week

Frostburg State University Baseball sophomore Tre D'Amico earned recognition after the first NCAA Div. III weekly accolades awarded by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association in 2019. This week’s honorees were recognized for performances spanning Feb. 18-24.

HITTER OF WEEK

Sophomore outfielder Tre D’Amico went 7-for-10 at the dish in three Frostburg State University wins over the weekend. In a sweep over the College of New Rochelle on Sunday, D’Amico tallied six hits, six runs, three doubles, eight RBI, and hit a home run in each game.

D'Amico also earned CAC Player of the Week honors along with being selected as a member of the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week.

Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters, and publicists of the sport. Members receive a membership card, directory, newsletter updates and official votes in the Dick Howser Player of the Year Award, Regional Player of the Year and NCBWA All-America voting. The NCBWA also sponsors preseason All-America awards, publication and writing contests.
