The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the 10th week of the 2023 baseball season.  Christopher Newport's Sam Benedict claimed C2C Player of the Week honors, while Christopher Newport's Dylan Weber was named C2C Pitcher of the Week for the second straight week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Sam Benedict, Christopher Newport

Freshman Sam Benedict extended his hitting streak to five with six hits in three games this week, hitting a team-best .545 in the 3-0 week for the Captains ... Drove in five runs and scored four times ... Delivered multi-hit games against Pfeiffer and Mary Washington ... Started a two-out rally with a double in the top of the sixth at Mary Washington on Sunday before coming around to score on a pair of wild pitches.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Dylan Weber, Christopher Newport

Dylan Weber led Captains to Senior Day victory (11-2) over Mary Washington with another quality start, tossing six innings and allowing just one run on four hits ... The senior struck out eight batters and walked only one while improving to 6-2 on the season ... Lowered his ERA to 3.58 for the season while taking the team lead in strikeouts with 76 in 55.1 innings.

PITCHER: Benji Thalheimer, Salisbury

C2C HIGHLIGHTS

Stephen Rice slashed .583/.643/1.083 with four doubles, one triple, two RBIs and seven runs scored during Salisbury's 2-1 week. On Tuesday at Neumann he went 2-for-3 with a double, triple, RBI and three runs; the next day at 10th-ranked Catholic he was instrumental in SU's comeback, finishing 3-for-5 with a double, RBI and two runs scored… Sophomore Ryan Schwarz led Mary Washington with a .500 average in four games this week, with six hits in 12 at bats, with two walks and two stolen bases. He had two hits and a run scored in a 4-2 win over Marymount, and laced three hits with two runs scored against CNU on Sunday… Benji Thalheimer spun five scoreless innings in Salisbury's 18-0 win at Neumann on Tuesday. He gave up just one hit with three walks and four strikeouts on 73 pitches.
