Salisbury Claims 2006 CAC Field Hockey Championship
The second-seeded Salisbury University field hockey team won
their unprecedented 12th straight Capital Athletic Conference (CAC)
tournament championship with a 3-1 victory over top-seeded Catholic
University on Saturday afternoon. The contest was a rematch of the
2005 CAC championship contest, a match in which Salisbury also won
by a 3-1 margin. Salisbury will now wait until Sunday evening when
the NCAA will announce the Division III tournament field on
www.ncaasports.com at 9:00 p.m.
The first round of the NCAA championship tournament is scheduled
to start on Wednesday, November 8.
