On a cold, rainy Saturday morning, 16 members of the St. Mary's College of Maryland field hockey team put their legs to work in support of the Epilepsy Foundation's National Walk for Epilepsy.

The Walk, hosted by the Epilepsy Foundation-with financial support from Ortho-McNeil Neurologics®, Division of Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc.-is devised to raise awareness of epilepsy, raise funds for much needed programs for people with epilepsy and help in the search for a cure.

The Walk, which takes place on the first day of the national Cherry Blossom Festival, is slightly more than two miles, and winds throughout the scenic area surrounding the National Mall.  In the last two years, the National Walk for Epilepsy has engaged more than 13,000 walkers and raised more than $2 million.

The Seahawks helped to raise over $2,000 as the team solicited pledges from family and friends.
