Mary Washington senior forward ALISON WECKSTEIN (Great Falls, Va./Langley) and Stevenson sophomore forward KATELYN MANOCHEH (Timonium, Md./Maryvale Prep) were named the CAC Field Hockey Co-Players of the Week after scoring five points to help their respective teams to first-round CAC playoffs wins Sunday.

Salisbury freshman defender TARA McGOVERN (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Lakeland) was named the CAC Field Hockey Player of the Week after helpinc the Sea Gulls win a pair of conference games and clinch the top seed in the upcoming CAC playoffs. McGovern assisted on the first goal of the game in a 3-1 midweek win at Stevenson, then contributed a goal and an assist in Saturday’s 4-1 decision over Mary Washington. McGovern has contributed two goals and four assists for the 10th-ranked Sea Gulls this season.

Mary Washington junior defender JACI MARSHALL (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) was named the CAC Field Hockey Player of the Week after leading the Eagles to a pair of non-conference shutout wins over Sweet Briar and Roanoke. Marshall and the UMW defense, which has allowed just one goal in the last 295:39, held the two foes to just four total shots. The Eagles are riding a six-game win streak and have won eight of their last nine.

Wesley sophomore forward BROOKE TADLOCK (Middletown, Del./Middletown) earns her second-straight CAC Field Hockey Player of the Week award, and third of the season, after scoring the game-winning goals in two Wolverine wins last week. Tadlock started the week by scoring the deciding goal in Wesley’s CAC triumph over Stevenson, then added the game-winner in Saturday’s non-conference victory over Roanoke.

Wesley sophomore forward BROOKE TADLOCK (Middletown, Del./Middletown) was named the CAC Field Hockey Player of the Week after scoring four goals in two days, including a hat trick in a CAC victory at Hood, then adding the game-winning goal in a 3-2 non-conference decision at Randolph-Macon. Tadlock moved into 10th place on Wesley’s career scoring list with 48 points and eighth on the career goals list with 22.

Salisbury junior forward LAUREN CORRELL (Bridgeville, Del./Sussex Tech) was named the CAC Field Hockey Player of the Week after scoring a goal in each of the Sea Gulls’ wins last week. Correll’s first goal of the week was in a 2-0 midweek triumph over seventh-ranked Rowan. She then scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season in Saturday’s 3-0 CAC triumph over York.

York senior forward APRIL McFARLAND (York, Pa./Eastern) was named the CAC Field Hockey Player of the Week after scoring three goals and assisting on another for the Spartans. She scored both of YCP’s goals in a one-goal non-league setback at Juniata, then picked up an assist in a 3-2 triumph over Susquehanna. McFarland scored her team-best seventh goal of the season in the final six minutes in a 2-1 loss vs. Dickinson. McFarland’s 92 career points on 42 goals and eight assist ranks third on YCP’s career scoring list (and second in career goals).

St. Mary’s senior midfielder Emily Smithson (Richmond, Va./James River) was named the first CAC Field Hockey Player of the Week in 2008 after notching a career-high five points on two goals and an assist as the Seahawks posted a dominating 6-1 victory over Va. Wesleyan in their home and season-opener. Smithson’s scoring output on Saturday nearly doubled what she did in 2007 when she finished the year with a goal and an assist.
