Salisbury senior forward ALISON BLOODSWORTH (Delmar, Md./Delmar) and St. Mary’s freshman forward PAIGE DECKER (Clarksville, Md./River Hill) were selected as the CAC Field Hockey Co-Offensive Player of the Week while St. Mary’s sophomore goalie ANA WASH (Yorktown, Va./York) was named the CAC Defensive Player of the Week.

Mary Washington's Lisa Charney And Frostburg State's Maggie Edwards Gain CAC Weekly Field Hockey Honors

Mary Washington junior midfielder LISA CHARNEY (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) was selected as the CAC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week while Frostburg State junior goalie MAGGIE EDWARDS (Lebanon, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) was selected as the CAC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week for Sept. 6, 2011. Charney is the first CAC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals and adding two assists in leading the unranked Eagles to a pair of victories over nationally-ranked teams. She scored the team’s first goal of the season in a 3-1 win over 13th-ranked Lynchburg, then added a goal and two helpers in Saturday’s 5-1 victory over 5th-ranked Lebanon Valley. Edwards was picked for the CAC defensive award after registering an amazing 45 saves and keeping her team in both games at the Drew Tournament. She led the Bobcats to a season-opening shutout win over Sweet Briar, then kicked out a career-best 33 saves in a loss to Landmark League powerhouse Drew. Edwards followed with 12 saves in a one-goal loss vs. Cabrini.
