Salisbury Field Hockey Headed Back to NCAA Final Four

Salisbury Field Hockey Headed Back to NCAA Final Four

NCAA Bracket

Salisbury is headed back to the NCAA Field Hockey Final Four after defeating Wellesley 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at Sea Gull Stadium. This marks the second straight year the Sea Gulls topped Wellesley to advance to the semifinal round, and the program's ninth trip to the Final Four.

With the game scoreless late in regulation, CAC Player of the Year Summer Washburn came through in the clutch for Salisbury, ripping a shot from the top of circle off a feed from Samantha Johnson on a penalty corner for the game-winning score.

The top-ranked Sea Gulls (19-1) will meet Bowdoin (18-2) in the NCAA semifinals next Saturday in Lexington, Va., in a rematch of last year's National Championship game. Game time has yet to be announced.

The other semifinal matchup will feature TCNJ (21-1) and Middlebury (19-1).
