Salisbury Field Hockey Rolls to Fourth Straight CAC Championship

Second-ranked Salisbury scored four times in each half en route to an 8-0 victory over Mary Washington in the CAC field hockey championship on Saturday in Salisbury, Md. The victory was the fourth-straight conference title and 20th overall for the Sea Gulls, who earned the CAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The Sea Gulls improved to 16-1 with the victory and have now won 12 straight, while the Eagles conclude their season at 12-6. The NCAA Tournament field will be announced on Sunday at 11:30 p.m. EST.

Becca Rinaca, Kristen Yingling, and Natalie Wilkinson led the way for the Sea Gulls' attack, each scoring multiple goals. Rinaca scored thrice, Yingling notched two goals and two assists, and Wilkinson found the back of the cage twice in the win.

The eight goals scored by SU set a CAC championship record for goals scored, while the eight-goal margin of victory was also a conference record.
