Christopher Newport will compete in the NCAA Men's Cross Country National Championships for the second straight year on Saturday in Louisville, Kent. The 8k race will be held at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park and will begin at noon.

CNU made history for the second straight year at regionals, becoming the first team in CAC history to win a regional championship. The Captains totaled 52 points to edge out second-place Washington & Lee (58 points) for the top spot in the team standings.

Grayson Reid ran away with the individual crown, defeating the second-place finisher by over 13 seconds. Reid was just the second CAC runner to win a regional title, joining Mary Washington's Jon Gates, who completed the feat in 1996.

Along with Reid, five other Captains earned All-Region honors - JJ LaPointe (4th), Jeff Dover (13th), Andrew Benfer (15th), Daniel Read (19th), and Sam Murch (33rd).
