2017 Longstreth/NFHCA Division III All-Region Teams

Fourteen field hockey student-athletes from the Capital Athletic Conference were selected to the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-South Region team. The CAC compiled nearly half of the 32 honorees, including eight on the first team and six on the second team. 

CAC champion Christopher Newport led the way with five all-region selections. Junior forward Rachael Allshouse and junior midfielder Courtnie Greene collected first-team honors. Allshouse was a repeat all-region pick after earning second team honors in 2016. A trio of Captains were named to the second team - freshman forward Courtney Fiest, senior goalkeeper Stephanie McKinney, and senior defender Alexa Weaver. 

Salisbury placed four on the all-region squad, including three on the first team. Senior goalkeeper Tressie Windsor, the CAC Player of the Year, earned all-region honor for the second-straight year, securing first team recognition. Joining Windsor on the first team for SU were sophomore defender Jillian Hughes and junior forward Emily Lemanski. Senior forward Natalie Wilkinson represented the Sea Gulls on the second team. 

York landed a trio on the all-region team, headlined by the fourth-straight all-region nod for senior midfielder Ali Posey. Posey was a first-team selection along with fellow senior forward Autumn Mallory. Sophomore forward Greta Plappert collected second-team recognition for the Spartans. 

Mary Washington had a pair of senior midfielders earn all-region awards. Allegra Massey-Elim was a first-team pick while Erin Kaila nabbed second-team honors for the Eagles.
