Christopher Newport and Mary Washington moved on to the CAC field hockey semifinals with home victories in Sunday's first round. 

In Newport News, Va., third-seeded Christopher Newport cruised to a 7-0 win over sixth-seeded Frostburg State. Courtnie Greene led the Captains with two goals and an assist, while Rachel Cooke added a pair of assists in the win. 

In Fredericksburg, Va., fourth-seeded Mary Washington ousted fifth-seeded St. Mary's 4-1. Lauren Hopkins scored twice to lead the Eagles' attack. 

CNU will now travel to second-seeded York for a mid-week semifinal tilt on Wednesday, while UMW travels to top-seeded Salisbury. The two semifinal winners will meet in Saturday's championship game.
