Salisbury's Johnston Honored as NFHCA DIII National Scholar-Athlete

GILBERT, Ariz. - Salisbury University senior Arielle Johnston continues to add accolades to her name with being honored as the Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) National Scholar-Athlete.

The National Scholar-Athlete award is presented to the 2019 Longstreth/NFHCA Division III All-American honoree who earns the highest cumulative grade-point average through the first semester of the 2019-20 academic year.

Off the field, Johnston carries a perfect 4.0 grade-point average as a community health major with a minor in psychology and Spanish. For her efforts, she was recognized by the NCAA as the Elite 90 winner at the Division III National Championship banquet which is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's 90 championships and also received an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. Johnston was also selected as a finalist for the Division III Honda Athlete of the Year and earned spots on the NFHCA National Academic Squad and Scholars of Distinction list throughout her four years at SU.

On the field, she was honored as a first-team NFHCA All-American, the 2019 Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Player of the Year, a two-time NFHCA All-Region honoree and a three-time All-CAC first-team selection.
