#2 Catholic Posts 85-75 Victory over Top-Seeded Hood in CAC Championship Contest

Catholic University, the #2 seed, claimed the 2007 Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) men’s basketball tournament championship with an 85-75 victory over top-seeded Hood College on Saturday evening. The victory gives the Cardinals (22-5) back-to-back conference championships and the automatic bid into the upcoming NCAA tournament where they will host Messiah College in the first round on Friday, March 2, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Hood (21-7) received a Pool C berth into the NCAA tournament in their first year of competition in the CAC and will travel to Virginia Wesleyan College to face Hampden-Sydney College in their first round contest, which is also on Friday
evening.
