Wesley Men's Basketball Team Meets Senator
DOVER, Del. - When U.S. Senator Tom Carper spoke with a group at Wesley College on January 9, among those in attendance was Wesley's men's basketball program.
The senator held a 30 minute question and answer session with members of the college community. Among the topics touched on were energy efficiency and self-reliance, the national debt.
Senator Carper also touched on his love of exercise. In his
closing statement, Senator Carper imparted what he considers to be
the five components of a successful leader: always do what's right,
treat others well, have a commitment to excellence, never give up
and to surround yourself with the best people you can find. He also
added that great leaders credit the team with the success and are
willing to shoulder the blame for failures.
After the discussion, the Senator posed with Wolverine Head Coach
Jerry Kobasa and members of the Wesley men's basketball team before
they departed to take on Salisbury in a Capital Athletic Conference
contest.
