Wesley sophomore guard JAMES STRATTON (Magnolia, Del./Caesar Rodney) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Mens Basketball Player of the Week award for Feb. 25, 2008 after averaging 26.7 points in three games last week,helping the Wolverines finish the regular season tied for third place.

St. Marys senior MIKE SMELKINSON (Elkridge, Md./Long Reach) and Salisbury senior GARY WARD (Poolesville, Md./Poolesville) sparked their respective teams to a pair of wins, dramatically changing their teams playoff hopes in the process, and were picked to share the Capital Athletic Conference Mens Basketball Player of the Week award for Feb. 18, 2008.
York Senior All-American Forward Chad McGowan Gains Third CAC Men's Basketball Player Of The Week Award This Season

York senior All-American forward CHAD McGOWAN (Dallastown, Pa./Dallastown) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Mens Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 11, 2008 after averaging 24.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 3.0 blocks and 1.5 steals in two victories that kept the Spartans on top of the pack heading into the final two weeks of the regular season. In the process, McGowan passed former YCP standouts Dan Johnson and Wayne Johnson to move into third place on the teams career scoring list with 1,876 points. It is the third time in the last six weeks McGowan was named the CAC Mens Basketball Player of the Week.

Gallaudet junior guard JON MOWL (Fishers, Ind./Indiana School for the Deaf) and York senior guard LEVI WINTERS (Manchester, Pa./Northeastern) were named the Capital Athletic Conference Mens Basketball Co-Players of the Week for Feb. 4, 2008.
York Senior Chad McGowan Named CAC Men's Basketball Player Of The Week

York senior All-American forward CHAD McGOWAN (Dallastown, PA/Dallastown) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Mens Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 28, 2008, after averaging 23.5 points and 11.0 rebounds in two key victories for the first-place Spartans. McGowan posted a double-double with 24 points, hitting 8-for-13 from the field, and 13 rebounds in an overtime win over Marymount. He then helped YCP to a two-point road win against co-CAC leader Hood with a game-high 23 scores and eight caroms. McGowan converted a convential three-point play with 17 seconds left at Hood to keep York in a tie for first place with Mary Washington. Its the second time this season McGowan has been honored as the CAC Mens Basketball Player of the Week (also Jan. 7, 2008).
Greg Palmer And Tyson Lesesne Share CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week Award

Salisbury sophomore guard GREG PALMER (Salisbury, MD/Salisbury Christian) and St. Marys senior guard TYSON LESESNE (Edgewood, MD/Edgewood) were named the Capital Athletic Conference Mens Basketball Co-Players of the Week for Jan. 21, 2008, after helping their respective teams snap long losing streaks last week. Palmer averaged 20.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in two games last week for SU, including a career-high 27 points in a two-point victory over Marymount, snapping a 12-game slide for the Sea Gulls. In his only game of the week, Lesesne tallied a season-high 30 points, hitting 50% from the field, and scored six of his teams last seven points in the final 80 seconds of the game, breaking a 79-79 tie, as the Seahawks halted a five-game skid with a three-point triumph over Gallaudet. It is the second time this season Lesesne has captured the weekly CAC award.

Hood Jr. G RYAN JUNGHANS was named the Capital Athletic Conference Mens Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 13, 2008, after averaging 25.0 points and connecting on 54.8% from the field, including a 51.9 percentage from three-point range, in three Blazers victories. Junghans knocked down a season-high 36 points, including a school-record nine three-point goals, in a four-point win over Marymount. He has scored 20 points in eight of Hoods 15 games this season.
