Wesley's Rashawn Johnson Named To ECAC South All-Star Team For Third-Straight Year

Wesley College senior Rashawn Johnson (Selbyville, Del./Sussex Tech) made his third appearance on an ECAC All-Star team with his selection to the 2009 first team.

It adds to an impressive list of honors for the senior guard.  Johnson has also been named an D3hoops.com All-American and a finalist for the Josten's Trophy, the Division III National Player of the Year Award.  He was also named to both the D3hoops.com and NABC All-Middle Atlantic squads after earning the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year Award.

Johnson led the CAC with an average of 24.0 points per game, nearly four points better than the next best average and seventh in the nation.  Johnson also led the circuit in three-point field goals (3.1 per game) and ranked among the conference leaders in minutes played (second, 37.7 per game), steals (third, 1.9 per game), free throw percentage (sixth, .763).  With 83 three-point field goals this season, he broke his own single season record at Wesley.

Johnson holds Wesley records for career points (2,388), three-point field goals (294) and free throws made (398), and ranks fourth all-time in rebounds (599) and steals (173).

Behind Johnson's efforts, the Wolverines won a school record 18 games and advanced to their first NCAA Tournament appearance.
