Mary Washington junior center BRANDON ALTMANN (Vienna, Va./James Madison) was named CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after posting a pair of double-doubles and leading the third-place Eagles to a pair of wins, including a one-point mid-week decision over second-place Wesley. Altmann drained 7-of-11 attempts against Wesley on the way to 21 points, including the game-winning hoop with six seconds left, and 17 rebounds. Saturday against Stevenson, He added 25 scores on 8-of-15 shooting and collected 14 boards. Altmann has double-doubles in four-straight games and 14 this season.

St. Mary’s sophomore guard ALEX FRANZ (Catonsville, Md./Cardinal Gibbons) was named CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after leading the Seahawks to three wins, which guaranteed the defending conference champs a bye in the first round of the CAC playoffs and a home game in the semifinals. Franz registered 17 points, seven steals and seven assists the a victory at Salisbury to start the week. He followed up with 14 points and a game-high six helpers against Hood. Franz ended the week with a double-double fo 14 points and a career-high 13 assists in Saturday’s victory over York. In averaging 15 points per game for the second-place Hawks, Franz show 16-for-30 from the field (53.3%) and 10-for-13 from the line (76.9%).

St. Mary’s junior guard CAMONTAE GRIFFIN (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar) was named CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season after averaging 26.5 points, 5.5 assists and 2.0 steals in a 2-0 week, solidifying the Seahawks’ hold on second place in the CAC. Griffin was 10-for-10 from the field on the way to 23 points and dished out a season-best seven assists in a mid-week victory over Stevenson. Saturday, as SMC improved to 2-1 in overtime games this season, Griffin downed 30 points, one shy of his season high, by hitting 11-of-19 from the field, including half of his six long-range attempts.

Wesley senior guard RASHAWN JOHNSON (Selbyville, Del./Sussex Tech) was named CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season and the second time in the last three weeks after pouring in 88 points in three games (29.3 avg.) and leading the Wolverines to a 3-0 week. Johnson, who hit the 30-point plateau twice in three games, shot 59% from the field, including 11-of-24 from three-point range, and dropped in 17-of-19 free throws for Wesley, which is 8-0 heading into the second half of the 16-game CAC season.

York junior guard NICK BRADY (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) was named CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season after leading the Spartan scorers and recording his fifth double-double of the season in the team’s only game of the week -- an overtime upset of previously undefeated St. Mary’s. Brady dropped in 10-of-18 shots, including half of his four long-range attempts, on the way to 26 points. He grabbed 11 of his 12 caroms off the defensive glass and dished out two assists in 35 minutes for the Spartans.

Wesley senior guard RASHAWN JOHNSON (Selbyville, Del./Sussex Tech) was named CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season after averaging 27 points in a pair of conference victories and becoming the first player in Wolverine history to reach the 2,000-point plateau. Johnson knocked down 33 points, with help from five offensive rebounds, in a four-point win at Stevenson Thursday. Two days later, Johnson tallied 14 of his 21 scores in the final 20 minutes, including his 2,000th-career point, in a come-from-behind victory over visiting Marymount to keep the Wolverines undefeated in CAC play.

Salisbury junior guard GREG PALMER (Salisbury, Md./Salisbury Christian) was named CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season after scoring a career-high 33 points and adding five rebounds in the Sea Gulls’ lone game of the week, a two-point non-conference win over local rival Washington (Md.) College. Palmer, who leads SU in 10 statistical categories and is averaging 15.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, has scored in double digits in six consecutive games and led SU to a three-game win streak heading into Wednesday’s road game at defending CAC champ St. Mary’s.

Tatum drained 8-of-11 field goal attempts, including 2-of-3 long-range shots, and added four rebounds, three assists and three steals for GU.

Palmer, who is averaging 13.9 points and 5.8 rebounds this season, has registered double-digit points in five-straight games and is leading the Sea Gulls in 13 statistical categories.

York junior guard NICK BRADY (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) was named CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after scoring 27 points and reaching double digits in rebounds in both YCP games this week. Brady had a double-double with 27 scores, 11 rebounds and five assists in a mid-week victory at Hood to open CAC play. Saturday, in an “instant-classic” at the Grumbacher Center, Brady had 27 points, a career-high 13 rebounds and two steals in a four-overtime loss vs. Stevenson. In the two games, Brady converted 14-of-19 from the free throw line.

St. Mary’s junior guard CAMONTAE GRIFFIN (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar) was named CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after averaging 24 points, shooting 52.1% from the field and 81.8% from the line and leading the Seahawks to three wins and the championship of the Provident Pride of Maryland Tournament. Griffin, who was named Tournament MVP, had 23 points, three assists and three steals in a come-from-behind win over McDaniel. He followed that up with a 21-point performance in a win over Washington in the semifinals, adding four assists and three steals. Griffin finished the tournament with a game- and season-best 28 points in the championship win over Johns Hopkins.

Hood senior guard RYAN JUNGHANS (Derwood, Md./Magruder) was named CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after averaging 22 points and leading the Blazers to the championship of the Rinso Marquette Tournament at Lebanon Valley College for the second time in the last three years. Junghans, the first non-LVC player to win the Tournament MVP award twice, posted game-high scoring totals in both games in the event. He shot 57.1% from the field (12-for-21), 77.8% from three-point range (7-for-9) and 100% from the free throw line (13-for-13) as the Blazers improved to 3-1 for the season with wins over New Jersey City and host Lebanon Valley.
