Frostburg State's Maurice Williams And Stevenson's Brett Burrier Share CAC Men's Hoops Weekly Award

Frostburg State senior forward MAURICE WILLIAMS and Stevenson junior guard BRETT BURRIER were selected as the CAC Men’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week for leading their team to victory with game-highs of 24 points in their only outing of the week. It’s the second time this season Williams and Burrier received CAC honors.

Salisbury junior center TRENT EPPS (Germantown, Md./St. Johns Prospect Hall) was selected as the CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after leading his team in scoring twice this week, including Saturday’s victory at first-place Mary Washington. Epps, who drained 53% from the field and 75% from the free throw line this week, shared team-leading scoring honors in a 13-point win against Marymount, then popped a double-double off the bench with game-highs of 15 points and 12 rebounds in the Sea Gulls’ victory against the frontrunning Eagles.

York senior forward PAUL KOUVARIS (Baltimore, Md./Cardinal Gibbons) was selected as the CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season after averaging 19.5 points and shooting 56% from the field in a pair of victories, extending YCP’s win streak to six games. Kouvaris dropped in 22 points and added three assists, three rebounds and a steal in a mid-week road victory against Frostburg State. Saturday, he tallied 17 points, added five boards, an assist and a steal as the Spartans outlasted visiting Hood.

Frostburg State senior guard TROY DOCKETT was selected as the CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season after pumping in 26 points and adding seven rebounds, two assists and a steal in Saturday’s one-point victory over visiting Mary Washington, handing the Eagles their first CAC loss of the season. Dockett, who ranks among the NCAA Division III leaders in three-point shooting percentage this season, drained 56.2% from the field (9-for-16), including half of his six long-range shots, against UMW.

Frostburg State Senior Guard Troy Dockett Picked As The CAC Men's Basketball Player Of The Week

Frostburg State senior guard TROY DOCKETT (South Riding, Va./South Freedom) was selected as the CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after leading the Bobcats to two wins in three games over the holiday break, scoring 59 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and picking up five steals. Dockett knocked down 53.7% of his field goal attempts in the three games, including 15 of 22 from three-point range - an outstanding 57.7%. His 24 points against Pitt-Greensburg were one shy of his career high.

York senior forward PAUL KOUVARIS (Baltimore, Md./Cardinal Gibbons) was selected as the CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after scoring a game-high 24 points and leading the Spartans past La Roche in the team’s only game of the week. Kouvaris drained 8-of-10 field goal attempts (80%) and 8-of-11 free throws (72.7%) and shared team-high rebounding honors with seven against the Redhawks, which suffered just its second setback of the season.

York's Paul Kouvaris Picked As The CAC Men's Basketball Player Of The Week

York senior forward PAUL KOUVARIS was selected as the CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after averaging 15.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and shooting 60% from the field in a pair of CAC victories. Kouvaris recorded the 11th double-double of his career with 17 points and 11 boards in Wednesday’s win at Wesley, which has played in the CAC championship game the past three years. He followed up with 14 points, five rebounds and an assist in Saturday’s victory against visiting Marymount.

Stevenson junior guard BRETT BURRIER was selected as the CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. In two games, Burrier averaged 28.0 points and 9.0 rebounds while shooting 55.9% from the field (19-for-34), 61.5% from three-point range (8-for-13) and 76.9% from the foul line (10-for-13). Burrier posted a double-double with 32 points and 11 boards in a 10-point weekend win at Polytechnic (N.Y.).

Salisbury senior guard DEVIN POSEY (Indian Head, Md./Lackey) was selected as the CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after earning Tournament MVP recognition and leading the Gulls to their first Pride of Maryland Tournament title in the seven-year history of the tournament. Posey, a 6-0 point guard, controlled 22 rebounds, dished out 14 assists, scored 11 points, added two steals and contributed great defense as the Sea Gulls went 3-0 in the tournament, including wins over a pair of CAC rivals Stevenson and Frostburg State.
