St. Mary's senior Nicholas LaGuerre and Christopher Newport senior Mike Cherry were honored as All-Middle-Atlantic District performers by the NABC on Wednesday morning.

The postseason honors continue to roll in for LaGuerre, who was recently named to the D3hoops.com All-Middle Atlantic Region First Team and selected to play in the NABC Reese's Senior All-Star Game, as he earned First Team All-Middle-Atlantic District honors from the NABC.

LaGuerre led the Seahawks to a 20-5 overall record in 2014-15, including a 16-2 mark in CAC play and the conference regular season title. He finished among the top 20 nationally in three categories – 13th in scoring with 22.0 points per game, 23rd in total points with 551, and 25th in free throws made with 142.

He also ranked in the top 10 among conference players in six categories – first in scoring, fourth in free throw percentage (77.6%), sixth in assists with a 3.2 average, seventh in steals with a 1.8 average, and ninth in field goal percentage (47.6%) and three-point field goal percentage (36.9%). LaGuerre led the Seahawks in scoring and three-point shooting.

Cherry was named to the All-District second team. The lone senior on CNU, Cherry helped the Captains to their second straight CAC title game appearance this winter. CNU finished the year at 20-8 overall. He wrapped up his career as the ninth-leading scorer in men's basketball history with 1,479 career points. Cherry averaged 12.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 three-pointers per contest this year. He played in 110 games as a Captain and is one of just three players in CNU history to connect on more than 200 career three-point field goals.

LaGuerre and Cherry were both First Team All-CAC selections this year, with LaGuerre capturing Player of the Year honors.
