Salisbury Upends First-Place York, Tightens CAC Men's Basketball Race

Salisbury topped first-place and seventh-ranked York 83-75 to headline Saturday's CAC men's basketball action, setting up a thrilling final week of the CAC regular season. With just two CAC games remaining for each squad prior to the CAC Tournament, four teams have clinched playoff spots, with plenty of seeding yet-to-be-determined this week.

With its road win on Saturday, Salisbury (12-4 CAC) pulled within one game of the York (13-3) atop the conference standings. Christopher Newport, which downed Penn State Harrisburg 69-53 on Saturday, is also 12-4 in conference play and holds the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Sea Gulls with a sweep of the season series.

Mary Washington fell to Wesley 68-66 on Saturday, dropping the Eagles into fourth place at 11-5.

York, Salisbury, CNU and UMW will be the top four seeds in the six-team CAC Tournament, but no exact seed have been clinched as of yet. Three teams are in the hunt for the final two playoff spots - Wesley (8-8), Frostburg State (8-8) and Marymount (7-9).
