Wesley sophomore Brian Cameron was named the CAC Player of the Week for the second time this year after registering a pair of double-doubles, averaging 22.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.0 steals per contest, and hitting a game-winning three-pointer from near halfcourt in a 2-0 week for the Wolverines. Cameron opened the week with 29 points, 10 boards, six assists and three steals in a 72-65 victory at Marymount on Wednesday. He followed that up with 16 points and 12 rebounds in a 68-66 win against Mary Washington, including hitting the game-winning three-pointer as time expired.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

One week remains in the CAC regular season ... York (13-3 CAC) holds a one-game lead atop the standings over Christopher Newport and Salisbury (both 12-4), while Mary Washington has also clinched a playoff spot into the six-team CAC Tournament at 11-5 ... York is ranked No. 7 in the D3hoops.com national rankings ... CNU senior Aaron McFarland led the Captains to two victories this week as CNU improved to 18-5 overall and 12-4 in the CAC. McFarland is now 10th on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,431 career points and has recorded 251 career three-point field goals, just six shy of the school mark ... Frostburg State sophomore Lawrence Pettis, Jr. totaled 36 points last week for the Bobcats, including 24 against Marymount ... Junior Johnny Cronin led Mary Washington to a 1-1 week, with 15 points and 8.5 rebounds per game while shooting 80% from the floor. In an 81-70 win at Frostburg State, he scored 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting and added 10 rebounds, and in a 68-66 loss at Wesley, he scored seven points on 3-of-4 shooting, with seven boards ... Marymount senior Dimitri Rucker nearly averaged a double-double for the week with 19 points and 9 rebounds per game on 80% shooting. Rucker now sits third in the league in blocks with 33. With the victory over Frostburg on Saturday, head coach Chris Rogers crossed the 100-win threshold at the helm of the Marymount program ... Matt Ayoub paced St. Mary's by averaging 12.0 points off the bench. Ayoub tallied a team-best 18 points, including 12 in the second half, and two rebounds at Southern Virginia ... Gary Briddell helped Salisbury to a 2-0 week scoring 23 points for the week while knocking down 14 in an 83-75 victory over York. Briddell was 5-of-5 from the field including 4-of-4 from behind the three-point arc. For the week he posted a 69.2% mark from the field while hitting 5-of-7 three-pointers. He also recorded six steals and two blocks on the defensive end of the court to aid in the victories ... Southern Virginia senior Aarun Rumbaugh led all scorers in both games this week, including 50% shooting en route to a career-high 24 at CNU. Rumbaugh leads the Knights this season with averages of 13.2 ppg and 7.5 rpg. In the win over St. Mary's, he swiped a career-high seven steals and scored six points in the Knights' 13-1 run over the final 3:30 to close out the win.
