Three Honored on D3hoops.com All-Region Men's Basketball Team

D3hoops.com All-Middle-Atlantic Region Team

York's Jason Bady and Christopher Newport's Marcus Carter were named to the D3hoops.com Middle Atlantic All-Region First Team while Christopher Newport head coach John Krikorian earned region Co-Coach of the Year honors, the organization announced on Tuesday. CNU will head to Fort Wayne, Indiana, and the Final Four this weekend of the Division III Men's Basketball Championship.

Bady was named the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year while being on a first-team all-CAC performer for the first time in his career. Bady was also selected to play in the NABC Reese's Division III Senior All-Star game at this weekend's Division III Final Four in Fort Wayne, Indiana. 

Bady finished the year averaging 18.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game. Bady shot 53.2% from the floor on the year, 33.8% from behind-the-arc, and 79.9% from the free throw line. Bady finished his stellar Spartan career with 1,154 points in 110 games, including 72 starts. He shot a career 48.6% from the floor, 30.7% from three, and 74.3% from the free throw line. Bady also finished his career grabbing 538 rebounds, dishing out 224 assists, grabbing 159 steals, and 80 blocked shots.

Carter, from Williamsburg, was a first team All-American as a sophomore and first team All-Conference member this year in the Capital Athletic Conference. He led the Captains this past weekend to NCAA victories over Hamilton and Williams by scoring 45 total points in the two sectional victories. Carter is currently fifth on CNU's all-time scoring list with 1,809 points, just 12 points behind Conley Taylor for fourth on the all-time list. It is his third career All-Region honor from D3hoops.com.

Krikorian has been selected the CAC's Coach of the Year the last four seasons and has guided the Captains for the last nine years. He has compiled a record at CNU of 210-52 (.802), and this week is leading the Captains to their second Final Four appearance in the last four years, and second in the 52-year history of the program.

Bady and Carter are now eligible to earn D3hoops.com All-American honors as well as all first team regional team members can be voted to the national teams. This year marked the 18th year the D3hoops.com has recognized all-region teams.
