Christopher Newport junior forward Savonte Chappell recorded a career-high 23 points in CNU's victory at Frostburg State Saturday. He made all eight free throws and also pulled down eight rebounds. Chappell led the 21st ranked Captains to a 2-0 week that also included a home victory over St. Mary's. Overall on the week, Chappell averaged 20 points and six rebounds shooting 72.2 percent from the floor.

Mary Washington's Greg Rowson averaged 20 PPG as Mary Washington defeated its second consecutive nationally ranked opponent in Salisbury, and then Penn State Harrisburg, to improve to 3-1 in CAC play and move into a tie for first place in the league. He scored 23 points on 7-15 shooting against the Sea Gulls, and then scored 17 on 6-15 shooting at Harrisburg...Frostburg State's Daniel Alexander poured in 31 points to go along with 14 rebounds and seven assists in a 1-1 week for the Bobcats...Salisbury's Blair Davis led the Sea Gulls in its two CAC games this past week, scoring 17 points per game, but more importantly being the catalyst to the Salisbury offense as the starting point guard, dishing out four assists against Mary Washington and six at Southern Virginia. Davis made six of his seven three-point field goal attempts (85.7 percent) along with grabbing six steals and nine rebounds on the week...York junior point guard Jared Wagner had another big week in leading the Spartans to a pair of Capital Athletic Conference wins. His big game for the week came in Saturday's 83-78 win over St. Mary's. Wagner notched 23 points, a career-high 12 rebounds, eight assists, five steals and a blocked shot in the victory. He was 7-for-13 from the floor including 3-for-8 from three. He went a perfect 6-for-6 from the line with all six attempts coming in the final 36 seconds of the game. On Wednesday, Wagner had 11 points, a rebound, two assists and three steals in York's 11 point road win at Harrisburg. For the week, Wagner averaged 17 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 4.0 steals and 0.5 blocked shots per game. He shot 50% from the field, 35.7% from three and 87.5% from the free throw line. Wagner is fifth in the CAC in scoring, first in steals per game, fourth in assists per game, and ninth in assist to turnover ratio...Penn State Harrisburg's Kahlil Williams was as efficient as they come in two contests last week. The senior posted a double-double thanks to 21 points and 12 rebounds while shooting 70 percent from the field against York (Pa.) on Wednesday night before netting a team-high 15 points on 87.5 percent shooting from the floor against Mary Washington on Saturday afternoon. For the week, the forward averaged 18 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
