Mary Washington senior forward Johnny Cronin helped Mary Washington extend its win streak to five straight by averaging 16.5 points and 11.5 rebounds for the week, shooting an astounding 92.5% from the field (13-14), and made 7-10 free throws. He scored 16 points on 7-8 shooting with nine rebounds in a 79-67 win at St. Mary's and added 17 points and 14 rebounds by going 6-6 from the field in a 74-62 win over York. He averages 13.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game this season, and shoots 68.2% from the field.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Christopher Newport's Jason Aigner led the 18th-Ranked Captains to victories over Southern Virginia and Penn State-Harrisburg by scoring 13 and 17 points in the two triumphs. Aigner was 5-for-7 vs. the Lions Saturday, all from behind the three-point line. CNU has now won four straight games...York's Jason Bady had another fantastic individual week for the Spartans. He opened the week with a career-high 35 points in the Spartans' road win at #24 Salisbury on Wednesday. Bady went 11-for-15 from the floor and 12-for-13 from the free throw line in his career night. He also had nine rebounds, three blocked shots and two steals in the win over the Sea Gulls. In Saturday's game at Mary Washington, Bady was limited by foul trouble but still tallied 11 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. He was 3-for-6 from the floor and 5-for-6 from the stripe. For the week, Bady averaged 23 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.5 blocked shots, and 1.0 steals per game. He shot 66.7% from the floor, 33.3% from three and 89.5% from the free throw line. For the season, Bady is third in the league in scoring, sixth in field goal percentage, fourth in free throw percentage, fourth in rebounding, and fourth in blocked shots per game. At 6-0, Bady is the shortest player, by two inches, ranked in the top ten in rebounding in the league...Frostburg State's Daniel Alexander led the Bobcats to a 1-1 mark with 21.0 points per game and shot 17-for-25 from the floor (68.0%). Alexander also hauled in 12 rebounds and four steals in Frostburg's two games, including a win against #24 Salisbury on Saturday...Salisbury's Blair Davis again was the catalyst behind the Salisbury offensive in a pair of CAC contests. In the first game of the week, Davis scored 13 points to go with three rebounds and four assists against York. Against Frostburg St., he put up a team-high 21 points, with eight rebounds. In the second half, when Salisbury was trailing by double figures, he led the comeback charge driving to the basket and hitting layups and getting to the free throw line, getting the deficit to one possession, but the Sea Gulls were unable to draw even...St. Mary's Matt Ayoub averaged 16.5 points per game and shot 42.1 percent from three to lead St. Mary's College of Maryland to a 1-1 record this week. Ayoub recorded a team-best 22 points in the Seahawks 92-62 victory over Southern Virginia. The junior guard shot 50 percent from the beyond the three-point arch.
