KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today the 2019 NABC Coaches' Division III All-America teams. Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division III, these student-athletes represent the most outstanding basketball players across America in their division. A pair of standouts from the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) were honored: Christopher Newport senior Marcus Carter earned second team accolades, while York senior Jason Bady collected third team recognition.

Heading into the national semifinals, Carter is averaging 16.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. He was a second team All-Conference selection this year in the Capital Athletic Conference, and earlier this week was named second team All-Region in the Mid-Atlantic

Carter was selected first team All-American following his sophomore season in 2015-16, when he led the Captains to a 30-2 record and the program's first trip ever to the Final Four. He became the first sophomore in program history to achieve All-American status. Carter was the Rookie of the Year in the CAC in 2014-15, and Player of the Year in the conference in 2015-16. He has set a program record for games played, 124, and has started 117 times.

Bady, the CAC Player of the Year, concluded his final year in the Green and White averaging a conference-leading 18.4 points per game. He added 7.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.2 blocked shots per game. He averaged 30.8 minutes per game as he shot 53.2% from the floor, 33.8% from three and 79.9% from the free throw line.

In addition to leading the conference in scoring, Bady finished third in rebounding, tenth in assists per game, seventh in steals per game, and fifth in blocked shots per game. Bady was also eighth in the league in field goal percentage, fifth in free throw percentage, first in free throws made per game (5.2 ftmpg), and third in field goals made per game (6.2 fgmpg).

Bady is the third player to earn the fourth All-American honor in Spartan history. Chad McGowan was a two time All-American (2006-07 and 2007-08) and Nick Brady (2009-10) are the other two Spartans who have earned NABCA All-American honors. McGowan was a first team selection in 2006-07 and a second team pick in 2007-08. Brady was a third-team pick during his senior campaign. All three Spartans earned the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year awards in the seasons they were selected as All-Americans.

Bady will participate in the 2019 NABC Reese's Senior All-Star game on Saturday in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Tip time is set for 4:30 pm
