FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Penn State Harrisburg senior forward Kahlil Williams was selected Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 10, 2018.

Penn State Harrisburg had just one contest last week and Kahlil Williams took full advantage of his 31 minutes of action, posting his first double-double of the season in the team's come-from-behind victory over Elizabethtown on Wednesday night, Dec. 5. The senior racked up a game-high 31 points on a stellar 11-of-14 shooting (78.6 percent) to go along with a season-high 10 rebounds. The post player was crucial in helping the Lions mount a comeback, scoring 14 points in the first half to cut what had been a double-digit deficit to one at halftime. The Philly native also came up clutch down the stretch thanks to his converting nine free throws on the night, including going 4-for-4 in the final three minutes. Williams also added a pair of assists and two steals in a victory that improved the Blue & White to 7-1 on the year.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Christopher Newport's Marcus Carter led the Captains with 18 points and 8 rebounds as CNU knocked off previously-undefeated and 16th-ranked Randolph-Macon. Carter also blocked three shots as CNU improved to 7-1 on the season. Carter now has 1,444 career points in 102 games, 11th on the school's all-time scoring list...Frostburg's Daniel Alexander powered the Bobcats with 33 points, including five three-pointers as the Bobcats lost in overtime, 68-65. to DI Longwood...Salisbury's Mike Ward scored 14.5 points per game this week in a pair of overtime wins, coming off the bench in both victories against former CAC schools Marymount and Wesley. Against Marymount, Ward had 12 points along with three rebounds and three steals. He scored three of the team's seven overtime points. Against Wesley, he finished with 17 points in just 24 minutes, including seven points in a second-half stretch of two minutes to halt an 11-0 Wesley run. He again scored three points in the overtime period in the Wesley win...Mary Washington's Johnny Cronin averaged 18.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game in a pair of Eagle wins this week. On Wednesday at Virginia Wesleyan, he scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds on 9-14 shooting from the field, as UMW won in overtime, 99-88. On Saturday against Marymount, he scored 13 points on 5-6 shooting, and hauled in nine rebounds. For the week, he shot 70% from the field (14-20) and added 20 rebounds, five assists, and a pair of steals. Through the Eagles' first eight games, Cronin averages 14.5 points and 9.9 rebounds, while shooting 68.2% from the field.
