Chris Osberg took the individual lead and led his Wesley Wolvernines to the top spot in the team standings after the first day of competition at the first CAC Golf Championship Tournament Saturday at Piney Branch Country Club in Hempstead, Md.

The nationally ranked Wolverines posted a team score of 317 (+33) in Saturday's first day of competition, for a four shot lead over York College (321, +37).  Host team Villa Julie rounds out the top three, only seven shots behind the leader with a 324 (+44). Marymount University and Hood College are tied for fourth with a score of 362 (+78).

Individually Osberg shot the round of the day with an impressive 75. Breathing down his neck are Villa Julie players Steve Watts and Matt Lukehart who each shot a 76. Michael Rushin of Wesley and Shane Bernard of York round out the top five.

The second day of the 36-hole championship will be held Sunday, beginning at noon.
