Three Wesley Players Sit Atop Leaderboard At Halfway Mark Of 2012 CAC Golf Championship

Two-time first-team All-CAC standout Robert Ehrhardt, 2010 CAC Rookie of the Year Clayton Bunting and freshman teammate Cody Pestun carded the three best scores of the day to lead Wesley to the team lead after the first day of the 2012 CAC Golf Championship.

Ehrhardt posted a one-under-par 71 on the Wolverines' home course - Wild Quail Golf & Country Club - to take the clubhouse lead.  Bunting shot a one-over 73, and Pestun played two-over par on the first day to claim the top three positions in the tournament.

They helped Wesley take the team lead in the championship, finishing the first day with a team score of 302 (14 over par).  The Wolverines hold an 11-stroke lead over defending tournament champion Stevenson (313), followed by York (320), Marymount (324) and Hood (351).

Stevenson's defending tournament medalist Ben Lukehart (76), the 2011 CAC Player and CAC Rookie of the Year, along with teammate Justin Hughes (78), round out the top five individual scores after the first day of the 36-hole championship.

Five players are tied for sixth place, all carding scores of 79, including Hood's Kevin Baker, Marymount's Mark Anthony Curtis, Stevenson's Sean Cavanaugh and York's Kevin Long and Andrew Schmehl, who was the 2010 CAC Co-Player of the Year.

Saturday's second round of the tournament begins at 12:30 p.m.
