Christopher Newport Extends Lead at CAC Golf Championship; Four Captains on Top of Leaderboard After Day Two

Joey Corlett and Matt DiSalvo each shot even par to help Christopher Newport extend its lead on day two of the CAC Golf Championship at Bay Creek Resort in Cape Charles, Va. 

Behind superb efforts from Corlett and DiSalvo, the Captains carded a team score of eight-over 296 on Saturday for a two-day total of 605 (+29), pushing their lead to more than 40 strokes over the rest of the field.

The Captains hold the top four spots on the individual leaderboard, with Corlett and day one leader Sam Robinson tied for first at six-over 150. Corlett shot even par 72 on Saturday, while Robinson finished with a 76. DiSalvo's even par round pushed him into third place, two shots back of the leaders at 152. Harry Nodwell shot a 76 on Saturday and is one back of DiSalvo in fourth. David Rabil sits in sixth place (158) after shooting 76 on day two. 

Marymount remained in second place at 646, totaling 326 strokes on day two. Cody Jameson shot the third best score of the day with a two-over 74, moving into fifth place on the individual leaderboard at 154. Keegan Boone is also in the top 10 for the Saints with a two-day total of 160, placing him a tie for seventh entering Sunday's final round. 

York (668/3rd place) and Penn State Harrisburg (669/4th place) are in a tight battle for third place, with the Spartans jumping one stroke ahead of the Lions on Saturday. 

York's Tyler Newton followed up Friday's round of 78 with an 82 (two-day total of 160), and is tied for seventh place to lead the Spartans. Ryan Wolbach moved up five spots into ninth place with an 81 on Saturday, giving him a two-day score of 164. 

Leading Penn State Harrisburg are Tyler Massar and Tyler Shenk in 10th and 11th place, respectively. Massar sits at 165 with Shenk one shot back at 66 after carding an 82 on Saturday. 

Rounding out the team scores are Wesley in fifth at 706, William Paterson in sixth at 740 and New Jersey City in seventh at 770.
