Four CAC Men's Golfers Earn PING All-Region Accolades

Four CAC men's golfers have been named to the Division III PING All-Mid-Atlantic team, announced by by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Mary Washington freshman Sebastien Bonte and sophomore Phillip Manceri, Christopher Newport junior David Rabil and York junior Tyler Newton collected all-region accolades. 

The quartet were four of 15 players in the Mid-Atlantic to earn All-Region laurels, and 100 All-Region selections nationwide. 

CNU's Rabil, a 2017 All-American, collected All-Region recognition for the second-straight year. This season, Rabil fired an average 75.4 for the season, and finished at par or better in four of his 18 rounds to lead the squad. He finished in the top five once, top ten three times, and in the top 20 in five of his eight tournaments played. A second-team All-Conference pick in 2018, Rabil helped CNU post a second-place finish in the CAC Championship. The 2017 CAC Player of the Year, Rabil is a three-time All-Conference pick. 

The UMW duo of Bonte and Manceri were named to the All-Region squad for the first time. Bonte, the 2018 CAC Player & Rookie of the Year, boasts a 73.25 scoring average as a freshman this year. Manceri, who earned All-CAC first team honors this spring after placing in a third-place tie at the CAC Championship, has posted a 75.88 scoring average this season. 

York's Newton put together a scoring average of 75.41 in his 22 rounds for the year including a pair of individual titles. He also earned first-team All-CAC accolades, giving him all-conference honors for the third season in a row.
