Salisbury's Berkman and Hickman Garner Preseason Men's Lacrosse Honors

The 2008 Salisbury University men's lacrosse season doesn't
begin for another 25 days but the preseason accolades, No. 1 rankings
and honors keep rolling in for the defending NCAA Division III national
champions.

Junior Kylor Berkman, last season's Division III Midfielder of the
Year, was recently selected by Face-Off Yearbook as its Division III
Preseason Player and Midfielder of the Year. The Salisbury, Md., native
was named a first-team All-American last season after he scored 35 goals
and passed out a team-high 45 assists as the No. 1 Sea Gulls went 23-0
and captured their seventh national championship. Face-Off Yearbook has
also tabbed Berkman as a preseason first-team All-American and a
preseason All-Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) selection.

Senior Matt Hickman was selected by Face-Off Yearbook as its Division
III Preseason Attackman of the Year. The Darnestown, Md., native scored
75 goals last season including five in the national title game to earn
Most Outstanding Player honors. The second-team All-American in '07 has
already been selected to Face-Off Yearbook's 2008 preseason Division III
All-American first team and joins Berkman on the preseason All-CAC
team.

In addition to Berkman and Hickman other Sea Gulls on the preseason
All-CAC team include attackman Greg Titus, midfielder Brett Yoder,
long-stick midfielder Ryan Browning and defenseman Ben Sandlin.

What they are saying about Kylor Berkman:
"Salisbury's legacy rests squarely on the shoulders of Berkman, son
of Salisbury coach Jim Berkman. A dominant two-way midfielder...Berkman
leads Salisbury's mission for its fifth national title in six years."
- 2008 Face-Off Yearbook

What they are saying about Matt Hickman:
"Hickman exploded onto the scene in 2007, earning second-team
All-American honors for his stellar offensive production. He will be the
catalyst on an attack that is once again expected to dominate DIII." -
