Salisbury midfielder Kylor Berkman and Stevenson attack Steve Kazimer were named the top players in the country at their respective positions and led a group of 15 CAC players, representing five teams, onto the 2009 USILA Division III Men's Lacrosse All-America team.

Berkman, the two-time CAC Player of the Year who led the Sea Gulls to their 15th-straight conference championship, was named a first-team All-American for the third-straight year and selected for the "Fran McCall Award - Outstanding Midfielder" for the third-straight year. 

He is the first-ever player to earn this award three times and in three consecutive seasons.  The Salisbury program has been awarded the National Midfielder of the Year six out of the past seven years and nine times since 1995. Previous two-time winners include Salisbury's Andy Murray (2003, '04) and Chris Turner (1999, 2000), Nazareth's Brent Rothfuss (1997, '98) and Hobart's Mark Darcangelo (1980, '82).

Kazimer, a two-time first team All-CAC choice who led the Mustangs to the CAC regular-season title and the No. 1 ranking in the country heading into the NCAA tournament, was also named a first-team All-American and chosen for the "Lt. Col. J.I. Turnball Award - Outstanding Attackman."

The third CAC player on the 12-man first-team All-America squad was Stevenson sophomore attack Jimmy Dailey, who was the 2007 CAC Rookie of the Year and was previously named to the first-team CAC all-star squad for the second time in his career.

Second-team All-American recognition went to Stevenson midfielders Nic Bevacqua and Mike Simon.  Mustang teammates also named to the All-America team were Honorable Mention selections Richie Ford and Greg Furshman.  They combined to give the national semifinalists a CAC-best six players on the 2009 All-America team.  Furshman, Ford and Kazimer are returning selections from the 2008 All-America team.

Salisbury earned four All-America nods this season.  Joining Berkman on the team were third-team defender Kevin Maynard along with attack Matt Cannone and defender Mike Von Kamecke on the Honorable Mention list.  Von Kamecke was a 2008 Honorable Mention All-American while Cannone was the 2009 CAC Rookie of the Year.

St. Mary's College, which finished second in the CAC regular-season standings this year, and Wesley College, which advanced to the ECAC playoffs, each gained two Honorable Mention All-America nods while York College had one player selected.

Midfielders Ryan Alexander and Marc DiPasquale represented St. Mary's on the Honorable Mention squad while defender Kirk Waldie and goalie Jim McCleaft represented Wesley.  Senior defender Steve Mersinger was the lone Spartan to gain post-season recognition from the USILA.

Berkman, Furshman, Bevacqua, Simon, Maynard, Mersinger and Waldie are all scheduled to compete in the 2009 USILA North/South Senior All-Star game May 24, 2009, at Harvard Stadium in Boston at 2 p.m.
