Salisbury Men's Lacrosse Downs Dickinson, Advances to NCAA Final Four; York Falls to RIT
 
Salisbury edged Gettysburg 9-7 while York fell to RIT 12-7 in NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament quarterfinal action on Wednesday night. 
 
The two-time defending national champion Sea Gulls (19-3) advance to the Final Four for the seventh time in the last eight seasons with the victory. SU will travel to Gettysburg (19-2) for the semifinals on Sunday. The Bullets topped Ohio Wesleyan 8-5 to move on to the Final Four. RIT (21-0) will meet Wesleyan (Conn.) (17-3) in the other semifinal. 
 
The two semifinal winners will advance to the NCAA Championship on Sunday, May 27 at 1 p.m. at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.
 
At Sea Gull Stadium, Salisbury jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, took a 5-1 edge into halftime and held off a late Dickinson charge for the 9-7 triumph. Eight different Sea Gulls found the back of the net, led by Austin Short's two goals and Josh Melton's two assists. Kyle Tucker caused seven turnovers to key the defensive effort, while goalkeeper Brandon Warren made 10 saves. 
 
In Rochester, N.Y., York was unable to overcome a 6-0 deficit at the end of the first quarter, eventually falling to top-ranked and unbeaten RIT 12-7. Jake Hvazda (1g, 2a) and Dillon Hannah (2g) led the Spartan scoring effort, while Landry Marshall made 17 saves in the loss. The Spartans (19-3) 19 wins this spring are the most in school history.
