Salisbury & York Set to Host NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament Action

Two Capital Athletic Conference men's lacrosse teams will compete in the NCAA Tournament as Salisbury and York will represent the CAC in the national postseason tournament beginning this week. 

Salisbury, which captured its 22nd CAC title with a 13-7 victory over York on Saturday, earned a first-round bye and will host a second-round contest on Wednesday (May 8). The Sea Gulls (19-1) will meet the winner of Tuesday's first-round contest between SUNY Maritime (14-3) and Grove City (12-5). Salisbury sits as the top seed in the south region at the opposite end of York in the southern bracket.

York, which advanced to the championship game for the fourth straight year, earned an at-large bid and will host a second-round contest on Wednesday. The Spartans (17-2) will take on the winner of the first round matchup between Stockton (17-2) and Morrisville St. (10-6).

Except for the championship game, all games will be played on the campus of one of the competing teams. First round competition will be held on Tuesday, May 7 with the winners advancing to play in the second round on Wednesday, May 8. The sixteen remaining teams will play in the third round on Saturday, May 11. The quarterfinals will take place on Wednesday, May 15 and the semifinals will be played Sunday, May 19. 

This year's finalists will advance to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the championship game at Lincoln Financial Field, which will be played at 4 p.m. Eastern time, Sunday, May 26, and shown via web stream on NCAA.com.
