York junior forward Jon Ports earned first-team All-America honors and was one of four Capital Athletic Conference players named to the 2008 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Men's Soccer All-America team.

Ports, the two-time CAC Player of the Year, made his third-straight appearance on the NSCAA All-America team.  He was one of three York players on the 2008 All-America squad.

Older brother Chris Ports was tabbed as a second-team All-American - his second appearnace on the All-America team.

Third-team All-America recognition was presented to York senior defender Evan Scheffey and Salisbury junior midfielder Kyle Sterling.  Scheffey and Sterling are both making their first appearance on the All-America squad.

The Ports brothers and Scheffey combined to lead York to an 18-0-2 overall record (.950 percentage) and the regular-season CAC title.  York finished the season as the only undefeated team in NCAA Division III and ranked second nationally in winning percentage (behind 21-1-0 Montclair State).

York's two ties were against teams the Spartans beat during their 18-game regular-season win streak.  YCP played overtime scoreless ties vs. Wesley (CAC semifinals) and Johns Hopkins (NCAA 2nd round) in the playoffs, then failed to advance in the playoff shootouts.

Sterling helped Salisbury to a 15-4-3 overall record, its second-straight CAC playoff title and into the 2008 NCAA Tournament.

Jon Ports backs up his 2007 first-team accolade with another first-team performance in 2008. Ports has racked up the honors this season being named to the Capital Athletic Conference first-team, as well as capturing the league's Player-of-the-Year award, to go along with his first-team all-region and All-American choices. Ports' 32 points on eleven goals and ten assists led the Spartans offensively as his dynamic play created numerous dangerous opportunities for the green and white.

Chris Ports captures his second NSCAA All-American selection after a strong senior campaign. Ports, who was one of York's first two NSCAA All-American's back in 2006, lands on the second team this season. Ports' 19 points in 2008 came on eight goals, including a pair of game-winners, and three assists. One of the best players to ever don the green and white, the fifth-year senior's incredible technical ability, creativity, and in-depth knowledge of the game helped make him one of the most dangerous attacking players in the nation throughout his career.

Scheffey notches third-team honors from the NSCAA this season after being a d3kicks.com All-American for the past two seasons. A gritty central defender, Scheffey's unquestioned leadership of the York side helped bring the Spartan program to new heights during his tenure in the green and white. Over his three seasons as a defensive starter, the Scheffey-led unit has only surrendered an average of 0.45 goals per game, with opponents scoring a total of 32 times in 69 contests.

Sterling, a two-time All-Region selection, was a mainstay for the CAC champion Sea Gulls this fall as he started and played in 20 games this season. Sterling tallied 10 goals, 25 points and had three game-winning goals. The 2008 All-CAC first team honoree led the CAC in shots (78) and shots per game (3.71). Sterling is tied for third in the conference in game-winning goals. In his three-year career at SU, Sterling has notched 31 goals, 20 assists, 82 points and 11 game-winning goals.
