Martinez Leads York Men's Soccer To 1-0 First-Round Playoff Win Over St. Mary's
Matty Martinez scored the only goal of the game in the 86th minute to lift third-seeded York past sixth-seeded St. Mary's in the opening round of the 2012 CAC men's soccer playoffs.
The victory lifted the three-time defending CAC Champion Spartans into the conference semifinal round, where they'll play at second-seeded Frostburg State.
The other first-round playoff class - featuring fifth-seeded Mary Washington at fourth-seeded Marymount, will be played Sunday at 2 p.m. The winner advances to the semifinals against top-seeded Salisbury.
