Nine from CAC Earn United Soccer Coaches All-South Atlantic Region Accolades
2017 United Soccer Coaches Men's All-South Atlantic Region Teams
Nine Capital Athletic Conference men's soccer players have been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-South Atlantic Region Team, announced by organized on Tuesday evening. Christopher Newport earned a conference-leading four spots in the all-region squad, Mary Washington had three players honored, and St. Mary's was represented by a pair of all-region honorees.
CNU, which won the conference regular season and advanced to the title game, was led by senior Jimmy Grace on the all-region first team. Senior Andrew Gogolin and junior Stephen Durbin collected second team accolades for the Captains, while junior Bobby Seifert was a third-team selection.
CAC champion Mary Washington landed a trio of players on the all-region squad, headlined by senior Colin Travis on the second team. Senior Matt Spencer and junior Justin Carey picked up third-team honors for the Eagles.
The St. Mary's duo of junior Juwan Kearson and sophomore Khalid Balogun represented the Seahawks on the all-region team, with Kearson joining CNU's Grace as a first-team selection. Balogun earned second team honors.
